Our Story
Deep Roots Homeschool Collective began the way most beautiful things do: a few families around a kitchen table, asking each other if there might be a better way.
We were homeschool moms in Ellis County who loved the life we'd chosen for our children but knew our kids needed more than any one of us could give them on our own. They needed friends being raised the same way. A community of parents who could pour into subjects we weren't equipped to teach. Time outside. Hands-on learning. Moments of celebration that come from being known in a community.
So we started small, and we built what we wished existed. Today Deep Roots is a growing community of homeschool families learning together each week, supporting one another through every season, and raising a generation of children whose faith and friendships run deep.
Our Mission
To support Christian homeschool families in Ellis County and the surrounding communities through a co-op rooted in faith, friendship, and the joy of learning together in God's creation.
Our co-op is comprised of families who:
create opportunities for children to learn and work cooperatively with other children of varying ages towards a common goal
provide exposure and instruction to a large variety of life skills, interests, and hobbies that families may not otherwise have access to
foster a love of God’s creation
practice conscious and responsive parenting
while encouraging and supporting other parents and children on their homeschooling and spiritual journeys.
What We Believe
Deep Roots is a Christian collective. We welcome families from across Christian traditions who share a love of Christ and a desire to raise their children in the faith. We aren't here to replace any family's church. We come alongside the work you're already doing at home.
We believe:
Children learn best when they are loved, known, and challenged.
Parents are the primary educators of their children, and the home is the heart of formation.
Faith and learning belong together.
Time outside, in God's creation, is essential to growing whole children.
A community of families can do for our children what no one family can do alone.
Statement of Faith
We believe:
That the Bible is inerrant, the ultimate truth, and the inspired word of God, who created the universe and everything in it to display His Glory
That there is one God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
That God created mankind in his image, male and female, and created marriage to be between one man and one woman
That Jesus the Son, who is fully God and fully man, died in our place for our sins according to the scriptures, to redeem us and to fully satisfy divine justice, to completely rectify us to God
Salvation, the free gift of God, is given not by works or deeds, but by grace alone, through faith, because of Christ alone, and for the glory of God
That all who believe are His children, and we should strive to be more like Christ and have a relationship with Him through spiritual disciplines such as prayer, studying the Bible, worship, and attendance of His church
In the distinct roles of husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, and children, and family values set forth in the Bible
That believe children were created by God as full beings- intelligent, creative, with an innate desire to learn
